This is an MC Sailing Association (MCSA) sanctioned event. It is open to MC scow Masters skippers which is defined as 50 years of age or older on or before the first scheduled race. Each skipper must be a current member in good standing of MCSA. Non-MCSA members will be scored DNC for all races.
All yachts must comply with the MC class rules prior to the preparatory signal of the first scheduled race. A boat may sail with a different sail number from its hull number if it registers with that sail number, and must compete with that number for the entire event.
Each skipper must declare his/her age and will compete in the associated division.

Rules |
The organizing authority (OA) for this regatta is the MC Sailing Association (MCSA) in cooperation with MC Fleet #24 & White Lake YC (WLYC).
The races will be governed by the rules defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).
- The racing area is White Lake.
- The sailing instructions will consist of the instructions in RRS Appendix S, Standard Sailing Instructions, and supplementary sailing instructions that will be published here, and be posted on the official notice board located at the club.
- Racing rules will be changed. The changes will appear in full in the sailing instructions.
- Courses to be sailed are all windward leeward courses as shown in the Sailing Instructions.
- VHF Radio (72) will be used by the RC to communicate with competitors on the water. Additional instructions regarding radio communication will be included in the SI’s.
- Electronic Equipment: Use of electronic timekeeping is permitted. Digital compasses and/or devices, which offer functions not exceeding timing, heading and directional memory, which may include a user programmed reference heading are permitted. Any electronic device shall not provide wind information, boat speed, GPS-related information or compute correlation between time and bearing (such as used to ping the starting line).
- Competitors give absolute right and permission for video footage or photographs of themselves or their boat generated during an MCSA event to be published in any media authorized by MCSA for press, editorial or advertising purposes.
- Safety Suggestion: MCSA encourages but does not require the use of masthead flotation panels when conditions warrant their use.

Scoring &
Awards |
The Low Point System of RRS Appendix A will apply.
When fewer than 7 races are completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores. When 7 or more races are completed, a boat’s score will be the total of her scores excluding her worst score. This changes RRS A2.1.
Seven races are scheduled. Three completed races shall constitute a regatta for awarding Perpetual Trophies. Keeper awards will be awarded if at least one race has been completed. Awards will be based on her finishes in the overall fleet.

Registration closes at 9 am on Thursday, August 24, 2022.
Boat Registration fee - $275 if registration is made and credit card payment is received (simultaneously with online registration) prior to July 15, 2023, and $295.00 for those skippers who register after July 15, 2023. Additional dinner and event tickets for crew and guests will be available. $115.00 ea Meal Package.

Launch
Please mark the tung of your trailer with your name and sail number. Launching will be available at White Lake Yacht Club and the Scenic Drive road-end launch ramp (Lakeside Inn ramp). At WLYC boats will set up in the upper East parking lot and will be driven down to the lower launch ramp when ready. We ask you to please keep your setup process moving along so that we can accommodate additional arrivals.
With the Scenic Drive launch ramp being a public ramp, please be aware that fishermen and pleasure craft will also be using the ramp and will need sufficient access to do so. Be aware of any overhead power lines!!!
Trailers can be parked in the Rillema field, which is 1/4 mile from WLYC (to the West – through the stop sign and to the left in approx. 200 ft) and 1/8 mile from the Scenic Drive ramp (up the hill, right at stop sign and then left in 200 ft.).
Boat Storage:
All boats will be moored, beached, or on lifts (limited availability) in the vicinity of WLYC.Each participant is responsible for bringing his / her own mooring apparatus (anchor, line, buoy) for mooring in approx. 25 feet of water. Apparatus must be fully removed at time of haul out. Limited beach area is available at WLYC and residences to the West (Smies and Dake beaches) on a first come basis. You are responsible to bring a dolly or padding and they must be totally removed at time of haul out. No dry sailing is available at WLYC or Scenic Drive ramp.

WLYC is a spacious two-story clubhouse; upper ballroom and balcony with great views of White Lake. Our Anchor-room (casual restaurant) serves snacks, menu items, ice cream, and assorted soft drinks and alcoholic beverages (including beer and wine). Bathrooms with showers are on the first floor. Our Pool will be open during the regatta. If this is your first visit to WLYC, you are in for a treat. See wlyc.org for additional information.
There are several hotels and B&B’s in Whitehall (7 miles east of WLYC).There is no camping or RV parking at WLYC. For those with RV’s, Duck Creek RV Resort is about 15 minutes Southeast of WLYC. VRBO and Air BnB are also great options for local lodging.

Alcohol Policy |
The White Lake Yacht Club has a strict liquor license! NO outside alcohol can be brought onto, or consumed on WLYC grounds.All alcohol must be purchased from the club! Please do not be offended if staff (or members) have you remove it from the grounds. Alcohol boundary signs are posted on the grounds. You will be given a 4 day temporary membership card upon registration so that you comply with our license. Please have it available if asked to present it. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
RRS 3 states, “The responsibility for a boat’s decision to participate in a race or to continue to race is hers alone.”By participating in this event each competitor agrees and acknowledges that sailing is a potentially dangerous activity with inherent risks. These risks include strong winds and rough seas, sudden changes in weather, failure of equipment, boat handling errors, poor seamanship by other boats, loss of balance on an unstable platform and fatigue resulting in increased risk of injury. Inherent to the sport of sailing is the risk of permanent, catastrophic injury or death by drowning, trauma, hypothermia or other causes. The White Lake Yacht Club, Race Committee, Protest Committee, sponsors, volunteers, or any other affiliated organization or official accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, injury, death or inconvenience incurred, in conjunction with the regatta, however caused. By participating in this event, each competitor, or in the case of minors, each competitor’s parent or guardian, agrees to release the Regatta Organizers from any and all liability associated with such competitor’s participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law.
