Eligibility |
This is an MC Sailing Association (MCSA) sanctioned event. It is open to skippers of MC scows who are current members of MCSA and 50 years of age on or before the first scheduled race. A boat may sail with a different sail number from its hull number if it registers with that sail number, and must compete with that number for the entire event.
Each skipper must declare his/her age and will compete in the associated division.
- Masters - 50 - 59 years
- Grand Master - 60 - 69 years
- Mega Master - 70 -79 years
- Old Salt - 80 years or older
Non-MCSA members will be scored DNC for all races. All yachts must comply with the MC class scantlings prior to the preparatory signal of the first scheduled race. MCSA Membership Signup

| Rules |
The races will be governed by the rules defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).
- The sailing instructions will consist of the instructions in RRS Appendix S, Standard Sailing Instructions, and supplementary sailing instructions that will be published and be posted on the official notice board located at the club.
- Racing Area: The racing will be the waters of Big Cedar Lake.
- Courses to be sailed are all windward leeward courses as shown in the Standard Sailing Instructions Appendix S.
- No race will be started with the wind under 5 mph.
- A boat that receives outside help from any source other than that permitted by RRS 41 shall retire. This supplements RRS 41. Boats that retire will receive points equivalent to DNF.
- Flags will be the primary means of communication on the water however the RC will attempt to make VHF radio contact regarding OCSs, weather issues, safety concerns, and other actions of the RC where clarification might be helpful to the sailors. The competitor channel to be used will be posted.
- Racing rules 30.1, 33, 35, 62.1, A4.2 and A11 will be changed. The changes will appear in full in the sailing instructions. The sailing instructions may also change other racing rules.
- Competitors give absolute right and permission for video footage or photographs of themselves or their boat generated during an MCSA event to be published in any media for press, editorial or advertising purposes.

| Scoring & Trophies |
The Low Point System, RRS A4, will apply, except that RRS A2 is changed so that each boat's total score will be the sum of her scores for all races unless seven races are completed. If seven races are completed, each boat shall discard her worst score except when prohibited under RRS 90.3(b).
Seven races are scheduled. Three (3) completed races shall constitute a regatta for awarding Perpetual Trophies. Keeper trophies will be awarded if at least one (1) race has been completed.

Boat Registration fee - $185 if you register on or before July 1st, $200 afterwards.
Skipper Registration fee entitles each registrant to:
- Complimentary Continental Breakfast for three days.
- Three Lunches
- Friday & Saturday Night Dinner Parties.
- Free Regatta Shirt with pre-registration before July 6th.
- Free Limited Beer after races each day.
Crew-Spouse-Guest:

Crew & Spectator Boats
|
Every effort will be made to provide ample crew & spectator boats for those wishing to get out on the water to watch the action. Limited number of crew available - contact Jeff Shabino.

Risks
|
Sailing is an activity that has an inherent risk of damage and injury. Competitors in this event are participating entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The race organizers (organizing authority, race committee, protest committee, host club, sponsors, or any other organization or official) will not be responsible for damage to any boat or other property or the injury to any competitor, including death, sustained as a result of participation in this event. By participating in this event, each competitor, or in the case of minors, each competitor’s parent or guardian, agrees to release the race organizers from any and all liability associated with such competitor’s participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law.
