NOTICE OF RACE (NOR)
1 RULES
1.1 The event is governed by the rule as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing
(RRS).
2 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
2.1 the sailing instructions will be on-line at http://www.regattanetwork.com.
3 COMMUNICATIONS
3.1 The official notice board is located at the Seibert Sailing Center and posted online at http://www.regattanetwork.com.
3.2 All boats shall carry a VHF radio capable of communicating on the RC channel
stated in the sailing instructions.
4 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
4.1 The event is open to all boats of the Melges 15 class and the MC Scow class.
4.2 Boats may only enter the event by registering online at Regatta Network
“calendar” at http://www.regattanetwork.com. Registration closes at 0930 on
Saturday, April 27, 2024.
4.3 To be considered an entry in the event, a boat shall complete all registration
requirements and pay all fees online.
5 FEES
5.1 The registration fee is as follows:
Melges 15- $85.00 MC Scow- $70.00 Youth (19)- $55.00 = includes light
breakfast, lunch, and post-race food and beverages. Lunch will be available prior
to leaving the dock for consumption on the water during a break between races.
Additional lunches will be available for purchase for $15.00.
5.2 Entry fee refunds may be granted at the discretion of the OA. A $25.00
administrative fee will apply.

Sunday, April 28, 2024. Option to reschedule regatta, if Saturday not
sailable.
7 VENUES
7.1 Racing will be on the Toms River or on the Wanamaker course at the mouth of
the Toms River or on Barnegat Bay south of the Mathis bridge.
8 COURSES
8.1 Courses to be sailed will be windward/leeward or trapezoid or a combination.
9 SCORING
9.1 Low Point Scoring System in RRS Appendix A shall apply.
9.2 One race is required to be completed to constitute a regatta.
10 RISK STATEMENT
10.1 RRS 3 states: “The responsibility for a boat’s decision to participate in a race
or to continue to race is hers alone.” By participating in this event each
competitor agrees and acknowledges that sailing is a potentially dangerous
activity with inherent risks. These risks include strong winds and rough seas,
sudden changes in weather, failure of equipment, boat handling errors, poor
seamanship by other boats, loss of balance on an unstable platform and fatigue
resulting in increased risk of injury.
11 INSURANCE
11.1 Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability
insurance. The Organizing Authority does not accept any responsibility for
verifying that a boat is covered by third-party liability insurance.
12 PRIZES
12.1 Prizes will be awarded to the first three boats in each class: and Top Youth,
up to age 19 by the end of 2024.
13 PARKING/BOAT STORAGE
13.1 Available for Friday, April 26th, Saturday, April 27th and Sunday, April 28th
only. All boats, trailers and vehicles must be removed by the end of the day
Sunday, April 28th.
