MC Horse Race Regatta
June 23 - 24, 2018
Venue Saratoga Lake Sailing Club, 163 Manning Road, Ballston Spa , NY 12020-4129. We are 180 miles North of New York City and 30 miles North of Albany, NY. Saratoga Lake is in the Hudson River valley. It is a relatively flat area that enables (somewhat) predictable wind directions. The lake size is 1.5 miles wide by 4 miles long and the water quality is excellent.
Rules The races will be governed by the rules defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS). The Sailing Instructions will take precedence in case of conflict. This changes RRS 63.7.

Eligibility
This event is open to skippers of MC scows who file a proper entry form and pay the entry fee before the skippers meeting. MCSA membership is strongly recommended (there is a $5.00 discount for current MCSA members who register online.)

Registration
Boat registration is $75.

$5 discount if MCSA member. Please login to your MSCA account and then register to receive the discount.

Registration fee includes (2) continental breakfasts, (2) lunches and Saturday Dinner and beer.

Guest and crew lunches and Saturday night dinner must be pre-ordered at an additional cost of $10 for each lunch and $15 for Saturday Dinner.
Scoring USSA Appendix A using the Low-Point scoring system. This changes RRS A2. Five races are scheduled. A minimum of one race must be completed to constitute a regatta.

Recalls Following the display of the individual recall signal, the RC will attempt to announce by hailer the racing number of all boats identified on the course side of the starting line at the starting signal. Such announcement is a courtesy and failure by the RC to make the announcement, or of the boats to hear or understand it shall not constitute grounds for redress. We will use VHF radios.
